Good point. It's always helpful to remember this when, for example, I get angry with my husband because of this or that little thing. Who am I to go around getting angry at God's kids. Look what He's forgiven me!

God Bless,

Cindy

Re: We’re all in the same sinking boat.

I think you really hit on a good point, we can't just read scripture once and say we have done that, check it off the list, what's next. The more times we read the same passages the more it sinks in, the more we can apply it to our lives, and the more we have the opportunity to use it when called upon. If we don't have the scriptures in our heart, how can we use them when we are called upon to do so.

Re: We’re all in the same sinking boat.

Like you said, we heard it before, and then we hear it again. Someday I will listen and understand. But I will say, I am starting to get it. I know that I sin, just like anyone else. That my sin isn't any "better" or "worse" than the next guy... my sin is equal in God's eyes. And like you, I am sorry for thinking I am better in some way that someone else.

Michaels last blog post..Romans 3: 9-20 - Blogger Small Group

Re: We’re all in the same sinking boat.

oops, just realized your site saved my web address as the typepad account. This passage was speaking loud and was reinforcing what I'm speaking on this week. Mainly it was humbling me and reminding me who I am, and the nature that is really below the surface (or was below the surface until I was made new). I don't get to decide I'm better than anyone. I get to walk around remembering that Christ has redeemed me. Yes, I am victorious in Him as a sinner, but I cannot forget the depths from which He pulled me out.

b/s last blog post..New Blog Site
